Ante-Natal Screen

An Ante-Natal Screen is a set of screenings and tests conducted during pregnancy to assess the health of both the mother and the developing baby. The panel typically includes blood tests for blood type, hemoglobin levels, infectious diseases (such as HIV, hepatitis B, and syphilis), and gestational diabetes. It also screens for genetic conditions like Down syndrome, spina bifida, and other birth defects, often through a combination of blood tests and ultrasound imaging. Additionally, the screen may assess urinary tract infections and kidney function.
